Where can I take my bike?

You can cycle on an electric bike anywhere you can cycle on a regular bike.  However, you cannot ride on the sidewalks in the downtown core because of a town bylaw, please walk your bike in these areas as the sidewalks are usually crowded with tourists enjoying the town.

Gananoque is a great place for cycling and on a bike you can travel on bike paths and public roads, so take your time and  explore the town at your own pace. There are many kilometers of cycle paths with more being added all the time. Among our favourite cycling routes are the residential streets of the Town, the official bicycle paths and along the scenic Thousand Island Parkway bike path, great for viewing wildlife.

We can provide you with suggested routes ranging from exploring the town right through to visiting smaller villages along the Parkway.  We can also provide you with some suggested routes should you wish to go for a longer adventure on our bikes.

What make of electric bikes do you rent?

We rent Benelli and Volt Bike brand electric bikes. These are exceptionally fun yet robust electric bikes which are easy to ride.

How fast do your electric bikes go?

The maximum speed that our electric bikes will go with motor assist is 32 km/hr. Of course, you can go faster if you pedal harder but the electric motor won't  assist you above 32 km/hr.

How do electric bikes work?

Electric bikes are just like regular bikes except that they have an electric motor that can be used to assist you as you pedal around town.  You shift the gears on an electric bike in the same way that you do a regular bike but you can also set the amount of assistance from the electric motor located in the wheel of the electric bike to make for a more comfortable ride.  Most people find that settings 1 or 2 are enough assistance for them to enjoy a comfortable ride without breaking a sweat but you can set the assistance higher if you like depending upon the terrain and how fast and far you want to go.

Using the motor to assist you is a bit like having the wind behind you, helping push you along and making your cycling experience a joy! Hills are no longer a problem as the motor can be used to power you up most hills without ever having to get up from the saddle.
No one gets off an electric bike without a smile on their face – they’re a joy to ride!  All riders get a thorough walk thru of how to operate our electric bikes before heading out on their electric bike adventure.

Do I have to pedal?

Not if you don't want to but it is a more enjoyable experience if you actually pedal instead of just relying on the electric motor and you go further as well.  Our electric bikes have a thumb throttle, so if you don’t want to pedal, you can just cruise along using the throttle.

How far will I be able to travel on an electric bike?

We have powerful lithium ion batteries on our electric bikes, which mean that they are capable of travelling quite far on a single charge.  The exact distance depends on many variables such as temperature, wind, weight and if you pedal assist or just the throttle.  On average you can expect a range of between 30 kms and 50 kms.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes one will be provided free of charge if you wish to use ours.

Do you provide locks?

Yes, we provide an ABUS high security, folding lock with each electric bike and while the chance of theft is low it is the responsibility of all riders to take reasonable steps to prevent the rental bike from being stolen, please use the lock provided.

Do your bikes have racks?

Yes. All our electric bikes have a rear rack with a clip that can be used to hold items whilst you are cycling.

We have panniers to rent for a small fee if you are interested in taking a picnic lunch or doing a bit of shopping.

How old do I have to be to rent an electric bike?

We are happy to rent our electric bikes to anybody aged 18 or above, photo ID required.

Are there any size or weight restrictions for using your electric bikes?

The electric bikes that we use are suitable for pretty much all heights and, so long as you are confident riding a conventional bike, you should have no problems riding our electric bikes.

135kgs /300lbs is the maximum weight that our bikes are designed for. Minimum height is 5ft/152.4cm

Where are you based?

Do you offer group rates?

We are more than happy to hire to large groups. Please contact us for further information with regard to group rates, etc.

Can you deliver bikes to my hotel, home, etc?
If you contact us with your requirements, we can get back to you with a quote.

What do I have to provide as security?

We will need to see photo ID, such as a passport or drivers licence, and you will also be required to sign a rental agreement and waiver.
We also require a valid credit card for all electric bike rentals.

What happens if I damage the bike?

It’s rare that bikes get damaged. However, if a bike gets damaged you will be charged for the damage as with any rental agreement.

What happens if I get a puncture?

Unfortunately punctures do happen from time to time. If you get a puncture, do not continue to ride the bike, call or text us at 613-532-0426 and we will make arrangements to pick you up.  We will repair the puncture free of charge.

What happens if the bike is stolen while I have it on rental?

It is your responsibility to ensure that the bike is not stolen.  The police will be contacted and the theft reported to them, if the bike is not returned then you are responsible for replacement of the bike.

What if I experience mechanical difficulties?

The chances of the bike breaking whilst you have it on rental is very low.  However, if you experience mechanical difficulties and are unable to ride the bike then please call us at 613-532-0426 and we will assist you.

Will you show me how to ride the bike?

All customers receive mandatory instruction on how to operate our electric bikes before they can take them out on rental.  This only takes a few minutes as riding an electric bike is fundamentally the same as riding a conventional bike, it's just more fun.  Once you experience the joy of riding an electric bike you will wonder why you didn't try it sooner.  All of our bikes come with standard safety features to insure that you have a safe and happy ride.
